No. BuKeep is bookkeeping preparation — it gets your financial documents organized and your transactions classified. It's not a replacement for QuickBooks, Xero, or your accountant. Think of it as the step that happens before you hand things off.
When you upload a document, BuKeep sends it to an AI model that reads the content — dates, merchant names, dollar amounts — and extracts structured transaction data. For simple receipts with clear text, we can often extract data without AI at all, saving you processing costs.
Documents are stored securely and transmitted to the AI only for processing — not for training. We do not store your documents with third-party AI providers. That said, you should never upload documents containing Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or other sensitive PII. BuKeep is designed for receipts, invoices, and statements.
BuKeep starts with a free 90-day trial including 15 BuKeep Credits. Paid plans start at $9/month for 50 credits. Most receipts use 1 credit. Yes — that's one of BuKeep's core strengths. Create separate accounts for each business entity. Your rules engine can automatically route transactions to the right account based on merchant patterns.
Yes. You can invite your accountant with read-only access. They can log in, view transactions, and export reports on their own — without you needing to email spreadsheets back and forth.
BuKeep supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP images (up to 5MB), PDFs (up to 10MB), and CSV files for statement imports. We handle everything from phone photos of receipts to multi-page bank statement PDFs.
Every AI-extracted transaction goes through a review step. Nothing is finalized without your approval. You can edit, reclassify, or delete any transaction before exporting.
