How Organization Leaders Manage Team Access in BuKeep

As your business grows, bookkeeping stops being a one-person job. Employees submit receipts, partners manage different accounts, and your accountant needs access to pull reports. BuKeep makes it easy to manage all of this without losing control.

Inviting Team Members

From the Team page, organization leaders can invite anyone by email. Each invitation includes a role assignment — User, Admin, Bookkeeper, or Accountant — so people get exactly the access they need and nothing more.

Per-Account Access Control

This is where BuKeep really shines for multi-entity operators. When you invite someone, you can assign them to specific business accounts. A contractor working on one project only sees that project's account. Your bookkeeper sees everything. Your accountant has read-only access to generate reports.

Account assignments can be changed anytime — just expand the member's card on the Team page and toggle accounts on or off.

Active and Inactive Members

When someone leaves the team or a project ends, you can deactivate their membership instead of deleting it. Both the member and the org lead receive an email notification documenting the change, and it's logged in the audit trail.

Need to bring someone back? Reactivate them with one click. Their previous settings are preserved.

Built for Trust

Every change to team membership — invitations, role changes, account assignments, status changes — is recorded in the audit log. As an organization leader, you have complete visibility into who has access to what and when changes were made.
